Spring 2010 Hospital Garden Restoration Starts10 April 2010After a long hard winter, the members of Northampton Apollo Rotary Club are at it again on their project to bring the Northampton General Hospital garden back to life. On the 10th of April 2010, Rotarians from Apollo returned to a garden that needed weeds to be pulled out, grass to be cut and in need of some fresh new bulbs to be planted ready for the coming summer. On their arrival everyone got straight down to work in this familiar surrounding. Because the garden had been well kept by Apollo Rotarians last year it was very easy to get to work and clear up the remnants of the winter months. After a few hours of pulling out weed, turning soil, planting bulbs, sweeping up and watering, the garden took on a much nicer look for the summer visitors. Apollo Rotarians will visit a few times this summer to keep the garden looking as welcoming as it can be in its hospital surroundings. Please see the Apollo calendar for the date of our next visit. |
