20 July 2008 - Apollo’s Dragon Boat Team managed to stay afloat for all three races at the annual Rotary Clubs of Northampton Dragon Boat Challenge at Midsummer Meadow. Calling on the lessons and training learnt last year the team managed to paddle together in time and finish a very high placed 15th overall. They also raise over a thousand pounds for Teenage Cancer Trust and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance.

The team was ably supported by other members of Northampton’s newest Rotary Club who kept both the barbecue and the information tent manned throughout the day.  The Club aims to attract families by meeting on Saturday mornings and providing a free crèche and this event allowed them to spread the word among Northampton’s families.
